What Tradeskills does

Tradeskills helps you make gold with your professions and the auction house.

  • It scans the auction house and keeps prices for everything.
  • It shows which crafts make the most profit.
  • Queue up crafts, then make them one click at a time. It lists the materials you still need and where to buy them.
  • It prices and lists your auctions for you, and shows when someone undercuts you.
  • It shows the cheapest way to level a profession.
  • It keeps track of your sales, your gold and every character's bags and bank.

How to open it

  • Type /bts.
  • Click the Tradeskills button on your minimap. Drag it to move it around the edge.
  • Set a key in the game's Key Bindings, under Blackthornes Tradeskills.
  • A craft pane opens beside your profession window, and a drawer opens beside the auction house.
  • Drag the grip below the bottom right corner to make the window bigger or smaller. Right-click it for the normal size.
  • Press Escape to close it.

The windows

The main window has tabs below it. It opens on the tab you used last. Right-click any column heading to hide columns you don't need.

Profit

  • My crafts: the crafts you know, best profit first. Tick Craftable now to see only what you can make right now, or All characters to see every character's crafts.
  • Click a craft to see its materials, what it sells for and a price graph. Add to queue queues it. Queue All fills your queue up to Keep in Stock.
  • Your time: for each craft, whether it pays more to buy the materials, farm them and sell them, or farm them and craft. The farming numbers need Farmer and 20 of your own kills or gathers.
  • Recipes to learn: recipes you don't know yet, what each is worth and where to learn it.

Queue

  • Your queued crafts, with + and - buttons to change how many.
  • Each craft says how it will be sold: AH, Vendor or DE. Click to change it.
  • Craft next makes the next craft. If the profession window is closed, the button opens it first.
  • Below is every material you still need, what you have and what it costs.

Gather

  • The materials your queue needs and where to buy each one, vendor or auction house.
  • With Farmer, Set goal turns a material into a Farmer gathering goal.

Post

  • What in your bags can go on the auction house, with the price it will list at.
  • It won't list anything below vendor price or below what it cost to make.

Disenchanting

  • Items on the auction house worth buying to disenchant, and items in your bags worth more broken than sold.
  • Tick Find a material to pick an enchanting material and see the best way to get it: break what you have, buy and break, make and break, or farm and break.
  • Pick an item and click Disenchant.

Level Up

  • My recipes: the cheapest way to level your profession, with the chance each craft gives a point.
  • Learn next shows recipes you don't know yet that would give you points now, and who teaches them. Show the way puts a pin on your map.
  • Queue materials puts on your list what you need to keep leveling.

Favors and Writs

  • Merchant's Favor: what each favor costs from Waylaid Crates.
  • Craftsman's Writs: which writs give the most reputation for your gold. Pick the standing you want.

Prices

  • Every price it knows, with the trend over 7 or 14 days. Star your favorites.
  • Click an item for its price history. My price sets your own price, or a price it never goes below.
  • Deep scan looks up every listing of one item.

Stats

  • One item at a time: what it's worth now, profit each, how much sells a day and what you sold this week.
  • Cards show the cheapest times of the week, your listings, sales by week and who else sells it.

Sales

  • Your recent sales, what's still listed, sales by item and your mailbox visits.
  • Profit by method splits your profit into crafted, flipped, vendored and disenchanted.
  • Gold in and out charts your income and spending.

Characters

  • All your characters, split into Horde and Alliance. You see level, rested XP, gold, professions, mail waiting, zone, time played and when you last saw them.
  • Click a character for their best crafts, cooldowns and bags.
  • Bank shows every character's bank in one list, with a search box.

Beside the profession window

  • Your craft queue, with Craft next.
  • Click a recipe to queue it. Right-click to take it off. Shift-click to search the auction house.
  • Each recipe shows what it sells for. A star marks crafts that raise your skill and make a profit.

At the auction house

A drawer opens beside the auction house. Scan prices everything at once.

  • Sell: what's ready to sell. The gold button first checks prices, then lists your best stack with each click. Click a price to set your own. Pick 2, 8 or 24 hours.
  • Buy: your shopping list from the queue. Search all looks up everything.
  • Lists: your own named shopping lists. Copy one to share it, or paste one from a friend.
  • Auctions: your auctions, undercut ones first. Cancel takes one down. It comes back in the mail.
  • Alt-click any item in your bags or in chat to search for it.

At a vendor and the mailbox

  • Buy materials buys what your queue needs from that vendor in one click.
  • Sell marked sells what your queue marked for the vendor. You can always buy it back.
  • At the mailbox, a panel fills in mail to send materials to the character who needs them. You still press Send.
  • When you leave the mailbox, a report shows what you collected and your best sale.

Tooltips

  • Items show their auction value, the trend, demand and how much sells a day.
  • Recipes show what the craft costs, what it sells for and who knows it.
  • Enchants show what the materials cost.

More

  • Profession cooldowns, like transmutes, are tracked on every character. Chat tells you when one is ready.
  • A sound plays when an auction sells.
  • Turn on Trade Requests to hear when someone in Trade chat asks for something you can make.

Good to know

  • Scan the auction house once in a while. Prices get stale after two days.
  • Your own scans always come first. Guild, TSM and Auctionator prices only fill gaps.
  • Profit counts the auction house cut. Your deposit comes back when it sells.
  • Nothing is sold or mailed without your click. You still press Send on every mail.
  • Anything sold at a vendor can be bought back.
  • Gear with a random suffix, like "of the Monkey", gets a price for each suffix.
  • With Farmer, the Gather tab makes goals and the Your time view weighs farming. With Equipment, gear upgrades get a green arrow. Butler asks Tradeskills what to sell, mail and break.
